The Christian Association of Nigeria has protested against the participation of the country in the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation which had commenced in Azerbaijan, describing it as illegal.
The organisation therefore demanded that the Federal Government should immediately withdraw Nigeria’s contingents from the tournament.

A PRESS STATEMENT ON THE ASSO VILLAGE MASSACRE IN SOUTHERN KADUNA
On 15th April 2017, at about 7:00 pm, an attack was launched by Fulani militias in Asso village, Jema’a local government area of Kaduna state. The attack came when the people were in the church for Easter vigil celebration. The killers took advantage of the event by sporadically shooting at the faithful killing at least 12 persons on the spot with many injured.

1.Nigeria is said to have a population equal in number of Christians and Muslims yet Christians have to rely on the generosity of the Muslim promoted parties to participate in government as reflected in the three arms: the Legislature, Executive and Judiciary, where Christians are regarded as minorities because only few Christians occupy the apex arm of government.

ABUJA— Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, yesterday, demanded that the Department of State Services, DSS, tendered a written apology to four members, Board of Trustees of CAN Trustfund who were detained on the orders of its director-general.
Director of Legal and Public Affairs in CAN, Kwamkur Samuel, in a protest letter to the Director-General of DSS, obtained by journalists, in Abuja, reiterated the body’s commitment to dialogue on any issue for peace to reign in the country. Kwamkur said DSS should be more circumspect in dealing with the Body of Christ in Nigeria, if not for any other reason, but to ensure and promote the confidence of the average Nigerian Christian in the government of the day.

There is now a commonality of opinion that the rate of violent attacks of farmers all across Nigeria by armed Fulani herdsmen skyrocketed since the emergence of the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari who by birth is a Fulani.
Conversely, since he assumed office last May, president Buhari has yet to articulate a workable public policy framework on how best to effectively combat the rise in armed Fulani attacks/insurgency.
