CENTENNIAL DECREES OF THE CHURCH IN NIGERIA
TO BE PRAYED IN ALL CHRISTIAN ASSEMBLIES AFTER THE NATIONAL REPENTANCE
The Agreement and Decrees of National Preservation, Transformation, Peace, and Sustained Rapid Progress
In this centennial season as we step into our second century in existence as a nation, we the Church in Nigeria, which is vital part of the Body of Christ Worldwide, hereby make this prayer of agreement and issue these spiritual decrees in the exalted name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ:
v Prayer Leaders:
- 1. Indivisibility and Sanctity of Nigeria:
WE ACKNOWLEDGE THAT, AS GOVERNOR AND POSSESSOR OF THE EARTH has a purpose for Nigeria in its present expanse. And since Nigeria came into existence about a century ago with His knowledge and approval, we, therefore, agree and decree on earth and let it be ratified in heaven that Nigeria shall not be divided, fragmented or otherwise dismembered. We nullify all satanic prophecies predicting disintegration for Nigeria. We declare that these ungodly prophecies be rendered null and void. They shall not stand neither shall they come to pass in Jesus’ name.
v Corporate Response: So let it be, O Lord our God and Redeemer.
v Prayer Leaders:
- Peace And Unity:
THE WORD OF GOD SAYS it is good and pleasant when men dwell together in unity. It attracts God’s blessings and makes great accomplishments easier (Psalm 133), we, therefore, agree and decree that, though genuine peace and unity have eluded Nigeria in the past 100 years, from today and for the next 100 years and beyond, Nigeria shall enjoy unqualified peace in all its borders. Nigeria, “Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity be in your businesses and households” (Psalm 122.7). No war or violent conflicts shall break out again. The sort of genocide witnessed in Rwanda; or breakup in Yugoslavia, Ethiopia and Sudan will not happen in Nigeria. No group or segment of Nigeria shall oppress or afflict another on account of tribe, creed or political leaning the peace of God that surpasses all understanding shall envelope Nigeria; the Prince of Peace Himself shall rule our land and divinely grant us His peace, unity and progress. As a nation under God, we declare we shall forever live in peace and unity, in Jesus name.
v Corporate Response: So let it be, O Lord our God and Redeemer.
v Prayer Leaders:
- Righteousness, Morality, Social Order:
THE WORD OF GOD SAYS “righteousness exalts a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people” (Prov. 14.34). We stand on this sacred scripture and in complete agreement decree that corruption be wiped out of our nation, that righteousness be enthroned, that proper social order take root, and Nigeria be firmly established on a sound moral foundation. We cancel by this divine decree the sin of homosexuality, child marriage and all forms of marriages that contradict the will of God. We agree and decree that these become eternally illegal in Nigeria. Let God stop, frustrate and disgrace any individual, organization or nation that tries to change this decree in the name of Jesus Christ.
v Corporate Response: So let it be, O Lord our God and Redeemer.
v Prayer Leaders:
- Good Governance:
THE WORD OF GOD SAYS, “Woe to thee, O land, when thy king is a child, and thy princes eat in the morning,” i.e. before work is accomplished (Eccl. 10:16). THE WORD OF GOD ALSO SAYS “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked rule, the people mourn” (Prov.29:2). We stand on these scriptures in agreement and decree that only righteous, mature, properly prepared, visionary, transformational and selfless persons should rule Nigeria henceforth. God Almighty, please in Your mercy, entrench and sustain good governance in Nigeria through such leaders and elevate Nigeria unto honour and glory.
v Corporate Response: So let it be, O Lord our God and Redeemer.
v Prayer Leaders:
- The Reign of God Almighty:
THE WORD OF GOD SAYS “Blest is the nation whose God is the Lord” (Psalm 33:22). In affirmation of our complete trust in God, we stand on this sacred scripture to declare and decree this day that God Almighty shall rule and reign over Nigeria forever for “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!” in Jesus name, Amen.
v Corporate Response: So let it be, O Lord our God and Redeemer.
v Prayer Leaders:
- Transformation from Glory to Glory:
THE WORD OF GOD SAYS, “In Christ was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and darkness cannot overcome it” (John 1:4-5). We therefore decree and declare that the light of Christ shall shine on Nigeria to banish all darkness and expose all evil. We decree that every root of confusion, mediocrity, corruption, ineptitude, stagnation, socio-economic degradation or retrogression be uprooted completely and permanently in the name of Jesus. Almighty God, in Your mercy, please let the angels and spirits of transformation begin their work in Nigeria now. Let them help to rebuild the nation according to God’s pattern and will. Let this nation be transformed from glory to glory and let the name of the Lord be praised in and on account of Nigeria forever more in Jesus name.
v Corporate Response: So let it be, O Lord our God and Redeemer.
v Prayer Leaders:
- Fulfillment of Divine Purpose:
THE WORD OF GOD SAYS in Jer. 32:27 “Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me”? Because God has specific plans and purposes for every nation on earth, God has a divine purpose for Nigeria as expressed in its size, large population, vast resources, the light of the gospel in her midst, and the witness of various prophets within and outside Nigeria. We, therefore, agree and decree that Nigeria shall wholly fulfill God’s plan for its existence: it shall be a holy nation; a people chosen of God; a light-bearer to the ends of the earth. We decree: our nation shall become and remain a perpetual blessing till Christ comes again to take us home.
We declare that the specific and tested prophetic words of God through His anointed servants over Nigeria will prevail over the contrary predictions of men. The Lord has spoken through His anointed servants thus,
v “Remember, I the Lord drew the map of Nigeria, not Lugard, therefore says the Lord, Nigeria shall not break-up.
v “Nigeria shall fulfill my counsel for the black race, the race that has been despised and enslaved. I will show forth my glory on the despised and enslaved”.
v “The way America is held in high esteem that every man in the world desires to go there, so shall I make Nigeria. No black man would like to die without visiting Nigeria to see my wonders”
v “Nigeria; though you have passed through the valley of shadow of death and shall yet pass through the valley of the shadow of death, thus saith the Lord, you shall not die, but you shall live.
v Nigeria, men shall honour you and seek your friendship; men shall come from different nations to behold my glory in your midst”.
v “Nigeria, you are a chosen nation in God’s plan”.
We declare that these words of God that have gone out of his mouth over Nigeria will not return to Him void, but shall accomplish all His desires for Nigeria, in Jesus name.
v Corporate Response: So let it be, O Lord our God and Redeemer.
v Prayer Leaders:
- Laying a New Foundation:
WE RECOGNIZE that no structure, institution or nation can rise above the strength of its foundation; and that the one sure foundation given by God to mankind is Jesus, “For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ”. We proclaim that Nigeria now be re-laid upon the foundation of Jesus Christ. Even as God desires that His will be done on earth as it is in heaven, just as the heavenly city is adorned with twelve precious stones (Rev. 21;10-20), let Nigeria’s foundation be adorned with twelve-fold virtues of Righteousness, Justice, Fear of God, Love, Unity, Peace, Faith, Integrity, Wisdom, Mercy, Patriotism and Excellence. We decree that these will be your new foundation; O you land, from henceforth and forever in Jesus name, Amen
v Corporate Response: So let it be, O Lord our God and Redeemer.
v Prayer Leaders:
Sealing The Decrees:
As we step into Nigeria’s second century, and with absolute faith in God that it will be a century of greater glory and unstoppable rising for Nigeria henceforth to global spiritual and socio-economic prominence, we make these DECREES OF NATIONAL PRESERVATION, TRANSFORMATION, PEACE, AND ACCELERATED PROGRESS FOR NIGERIA in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. We also decree that any agreement, alignment, decree, invocation, divination, incantation, sorcery, enchantment, collusion, manipulation, foundation, prayer or other spiritual or physical act, private or official; now, in the past, or in the future that is contrary to the standards, will and purposes of the Almighty God for Nigeria be frustrated, void and of no effect. We seal these decrees with the blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ, that was shed for us and cause them to be ratified by Parliament of Heaven, to the eternal glory of God and King. Even so, Almighty God, Thy will be done, Thy kingdom come, and Thy name be glorified in Nigeria henceforth evermore, through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen
v Corporate Response: Halleluyah, Halleluyah, Let Your will be done in our land and Your kingdom come O God.
