Christians all over the country trooped on the streets of Nigeria on Sunday 29th April 2018 to protest against the killings of believers in Jesus Christ by Islamist insurgents, Boko Haram and Fulani herdsmen.
Earlier, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) had conducted a Press Conference on Friday 27th April 2018 to decry the continued murder and mayhem unleashed against Christians by Muslims in Nigeria. The President of CAN, Rev. Dr. Samson Olasupo Ayokunle called on all Christians to undertake peaceful protest around their places of worship on Sunday 27th April and Sunday 6th May, 2018.
Nigerian Christians in the Diaspora were also called upon to observe the Christian protest in every nation of their abode. The Christians were encouraged to download the text of the Press Conference from the website of CAN (www.canng.org) and read it all over the world. In addition, Nigerian Christians in foreign countries were called upon to ensure the paper gets to the Government of the host country.
CAN is holding President Buhari responsible for the failure of the Security Forces to arrest and prosecute the serial Islamic murderers. During the Press Conference, which was conducted by the General Secretary of CAN, Rev. Dr. Musa Asake, CAN specifically condemned President Buhari for failure to handle the crisis as stipulated by the Constitution of Nigeria that “the security and welfare of the people shall be the primary purpose of government:” Section 14 (2)b
CAN pointedly affirmed that it is clear the security and welfare of the people is not the primary purpose of President Buhari. CAN also affirms during the Press Conference that the Security Forces are complicit in the attacks.

CAN called on all Governments of the world to take note that President Buhari is fermenting war in Nigeria, the consequence of which shall negatively impact USA, Britain and Africa.
